DJ RUCA a.k.a. Sync Sweep is a Japanese DJ, producer, and sound creator whose work explores the intersection of House, Tech House, Progressive House, and contemporary electronic music culture.

Beginning his DJ career in 2004, he quickly established a reputation for blending deep grooves, melodic atmospheres, and forward-thinking club aesthetics. In 2007, he released his debut album, Infinite, marking the beginning of a recording career that would span both physical and digital formats. This was followed by a series of vinyl releases, including the 12-inch single RI-JI-N, which helped solidify his presence within Japan’s underground dance music scene.

In 2009, his second album, Silent Message., attracted significant attention prior to release, reaching No.3 on HMV Japan’s reservation chart. The album further showcased his evolving approach to electronic music, combining emotional depth with sophisticated production techniques. Over the following years, he continued releasing music through digital platforms including Beatport, expanding his reach to listeners and DJs around the world.

After stepping away from music activities in 2020, RUCA returned in 2026 with a renewed vision, launching the independent label WVVD™ RECORDS. Through the label, he continues to explore the relationship between sound, movement, memory, and culture while supporting emerging forms of independent music distribution and creative expression.

Beyond music, RUCA is also known as HigashiYuki (www.higashiyuki.com), an art director, advertising photographer, filmmaker, and full-stack engineer. His multidisciplinary background informs a unique creative philosophy that bridges audio, visual identity, technology, and brand storytelling. By integrating these disciplines into a unified practice, he creates immersive experiences that extend beyond music itself.

Today, DJ RUCA a.k.a. Sync Sweep continues to develop projects that connect sound with broader cultural narratives, pursuing new possibilities for independent electronic music in an increasingly interconnected world.
